BOLIVAR, Mo. — 鶹TV and Drury University will battle once again in the fourth-annual CatFight Giving Challenge, through which the universities compete to raise money for their annual funds. Last year, 鶹TV raised more than $25,000, the most in 鶹TV’s history of the challenge.
The fundraising contest coincides with the universities’ on-court rivalry in the Bank of Bolivar CatFight on Highway 13 basketball doubleheader Tuesday, Nov. 14, with the 鶹TV women taking the court against Drury at 5:30 p.m., followed by the men’s game at 7:30 p.m. Both games will be played at 鶹TV’s Meyer Wellness and Sports Center in Bolivar.
The giving challenge is going on now and concludes at the end of halftime of the men’s game on Tuesday, Nov. 14. All donations must be received by the universities before halftime of the men’s game in order to be counted for the competition. The winner of the challenge will be announced during the second half of the men’s game.
For the second year, the Bank of Bolivar has sweetened the contest by pledging $2,000 to the winning school of the giving challenge and $500 to the runner-up.
“We look forward to, and get excited for this competition each year and what it means for our students,” said Jim Grabowski, 鶹TV development officer. “Our alumni, friends and students have been the champions in this giving challenge, and we are thankful and grateful for the heart they have for our university.”
Money raised by 鶹TV will go to the university’s annual scholarship fund, which provides scholarships to 鶹TV students to help make a Christ-centered education an affordable reality.
