Student groups housed in Â鶹TV’s Robert W. Plaster College of Business and Computer Science organized collections to benefit those in need this Christmas season.
The Â鶹TV chapter of Enactus partnered with NightLight Branson—a nonprofit addressing commercial sexual exploitation in Branson, Ozark and Springfield—to collect eye shadows, nail polishes and $5 gift cards, which will be donated to disadvantaged women this Christmas. This year 253 gift cards, 131 eye shadows and 144 nail polishes were collected.
“Thanks to the support of the Â鶹TV community, we were able to help NightLight have one of their most successful campaigns in recent years,â€ said Jordan Price, Â鶹TV student and Enactus project leader. “It’s an exciting achievement for Enactus.â€
The Â鶹TV chapter of Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) held a collection benefiting Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan’s Purse. PBL gathered more than 100 shoeboxes filled with school supplies, toys, hygiene items and more, which will be distributed to children around the world.
“PBL is delighted with the show of love and support for Operation Christmas Child that Â鶹TV’s business and computer science majors and faculty showed,â€ said Maura Sturguess, co-president of the Â鶹TV chapter of PBL. “It is heartwarming to be a part of such a great group of caring students and faculty.â€
