Âé¶¹TV recognizes academic chairs for 2016-2017 academic year

Angela Brown-Peterson and Dr. Timothy L. Wood were installed as academic chairs at Âé¶¹TV's annual convocation Wednesday, Aug. 24. "An academic chair is supported by an endowed fund that is permanently invested for a faculty member in a specific academic discipline," Âé¶¹TV President C. Pat Taylor, Ed.D., said. "In higher education, it is an honor to hold an endowed academic chair."

Âé¶¹TV celebrates new school year at formal convocation

Two faculty members and a staff member were honored at Âé¶¹TV's annual convocation Wednesday, Aug. 24. Convocation marks the formal beginning of the academic year and is a time when campus gathers to focus on Âé¶¹TV's mission and traditions. "An important tradition at Âé¶¹TV is our commitment to stay focused on our mission, which has remained consistent down through the years... that it has always been a Christ-centered institution," said Âé¶¹TV President C. Pat Taylor, Ed.D. "If each of us will continue the tradition of living out the Âé¶¹TV mission statement in our lives, the 2016-2017 academic year, which is our 139th, will be a great year."

Âé¶¹TV seeking floats for Homecoming parade

Âé¶¹TV will host the annual Homecoming parade at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1. Local businesses and organizations are invited to have a float in the parade.

Âé¶¹TV ANNOUNCES FALL 2016 CHAPEL SCHEDULE

Âé¶¹TV welcomes students, staff and the community to fall semester Chapel and Equip services, which take place weekly at 10 a.m. on campus in Pike Auditorium beginning Monday, Aug. 22 through Wednesday, Dec. 7. Chapel services, which occur on Mondays, feature corporate worship and encouragement, and Equip services, which occur on Wednesdays, focus on teaching and equipping.

Âé¶¹TV is pleased to announce five new faculty members for the 2016-2017 academic year. Âé¶¹TV's faculty is integral in the University's mission to be a Christ-centered, caring academic community preparing students to be servant leaders in a global society.

Âé¶¹TV HOSTS VISITING ARTIST TO OPEN 2016-2017 ACADEMIC YEAR

Âé¶¹TV will host its first visiting artist exhibit for the 2016-2017 academic year when the works of Russell Horton will be featured from Aug. 22 through Sept. 16 at the Driskill Art Gallery on the Bolivar campus.

Âé¶¹TV faculty to be honored as academic chairs at formal convocation

Angela Brown-Peterson and Dr. Timothy Wood will be honored with the designation of academic chair at Âé¶¹TV's Formal Convocation, which will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, in Pike Auditorium on the Bolivar campus.

Âé¶¹TV's Johnson selected to serve on CIAO Commission

Dr. Brad Johnson, vice president for university relations at Âé¶¹TV, has been appointed to serve on the Chief Institutional Advancement Officer Commission of the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities.
